I am so, SO ready for the heat of summer to be GONE. This summer has been horrid.
We have officially made our last trip to the Ichetucknee this season. The kids were back in school and it was a weekday, so the river was very quiet and mostly empty. There were birds, turtles and other wildlife everywhere.
Scott and I wanted separate tubes with mesh bottoms, but they didn't have any left due to kids tearing them up over the course of the summer. We settled on this insanely large "love seat" of a raft. It did make for quite a comfy float down the river!
Don't mind our funny faces here. I realize the entire Ichetucknee River is quite chilly, but we took this picture right over one of the springs and the water coming out of the ground is absolutely freezing!
Dustin and Sarah joined us. Dustin had never been down the river .. that's a shame!
The only downside?
We got caught in the rain. At least we were in our bathing suits, right?!
