One heck of a mornin' ..

My morning began with a nice Chi burn to the fingers. If you have ever used a Chi, you know darn well that even the hair you have just run through a Chi can burn you to smithereens. Two of the fingers on my left hand are not too happy with life on this fine day. They somehow managed to sneak away from me and touch the hot cermaic plates of my iron. OUCH.

So, I ran them under some cold water .. you are aware that ice is NOT to be used for burns, correct? My mom won't ever listen to that fine piece of advice from me.

I sucked it up and headed downstairs. I took the boys outside and then settled onto a bar stool to do my morning email check and enjoy a bowl of cereal .. it is my morning-before-work ritual. I always eat healthy cereal before work, I don't indulge in the ever so scrumptious Mini Wheats I crave so often. Such a good girl, right?

I swear at this point that I heard a lot of wind, but I didn't think much of it. After all, the wind was blowing at ridiculous speeds all night and you could hear it whipping through the trees and screens.

I got up to rinse my cereal bowl and what do I see? The front door wide open.

GASP. I'm pretty sure I literally gasped. I ran outside to find both of my misbehavin' dogs frolicking in the front yard. This wouldn't be the end of the world IF: it wasn't 30 something degrees outside, the wind wasn't blowing crazy speeds, it wasn't pitch black and a few people weren't leaving for work at that exact moment. My worst nightmare is one of my pups being hit by a car. I always say it and I always worry about it.

Beau was easy, I quickly ran back inside and grabbed the laser light. As soon as he saw the light, he chased it right into the house.

Knox? He runs. I ran after him. Literally full on ran in my scrubs, Crocs and jacket. Thankfully, I was still properly clothed from having taken them out earlier. He finally surrendered on the other side of my neighborhood next to some random person's SUV parked in their driveway.

Whew. This was all before 6:30 AM.

Thankfully, my day has been uneventful since then. I did bring chili for lunch and I'm wearing white scrub pants and a white hoodie. It is unheard of for me to stay clean while wearing white, so I'm thankful that today all is well in that department!

Even though I heard this story this morning...it still made me nervous as I was reading it! Haha!

The Chi hotness on the hair gets me every time!
