Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you:

That, my friends would be Megan. And the pup? That's O'Malley .. her guide dog. One of two, that is. Shay Bay is a precious baby girl at the ripe old age of 11. She has retired and O'Malley now joins Megan on her daily outings. I can still remember visiting Megan during her time away as she bonded with Shay Bay and was taught how to work with her.
I met Megan in the Church of our Saviour kitchen back in 5th grade. She was doing some sort of smart girl homework and I was fascinated. We were lucky enough to spend the next three years at Darnell Cookman together and we also gained the nickname of "Raegan" at church, considering we were inseparable.
Lots of personal growth and time apart has happened between now and then. Oh, how I missed her. Megan is now, once again, one of my nearest and dearest. For that, I am grateful.
Megan was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa at a young age. Today, she is a huge advocate for finding a cure for RP and other diseases related to the loss of vision.
Putting all of that aside, she is about to graduate from UNF with a masters degree and keeps herself busy with work and starting a business with a friend.
Talk about BUSY, yet she still makes time for little ol' me.
Megan, you truly are an inspiration to me and I admire all that you are.
Please visit Megan's Vision Walk page and consider joining us in this year's walk for a cure!
