I've been all over the United States (although I've still got a good bit of exploring left to do). This is one thing I greatly thank my parents for, a childhood FILLED with traveling to new places. My favorite places so far have been Big Sky, Montana, Chicago, Illinois and Newport, Rhode Island. Three very different places, all for very different reasons.
I've never been anywhere out of the country, other than the "usual" Canada and Mexico .. but do those really count?
Like most things (including my career) I don't remember when or why I decided on these places, but I'm very sure about where I'd like to go:
Oh, Tahiti. I've always had it in my head that I've wanted to visit this part of the world. Where I got that from? I have no idea. I DO know that after watching part of the movie Couples Retreat and falling asleep on Scott's shoulder halfway through it, I came home and used handy dandy Google to discover where it was filmed. This only convinced me more of how much I would like to spend some time in this fascinatingly beautiful place. The only thing I have no desire for is the plane ride it will take to get there ..
And, Greece. Again, where this fascination started I will never know. And again, I remember where this desire was reiterated. Remember the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants trilogy? I read them all. Call me a nerd, but they were good books. I've never liked the ending, but you don't always get what you want. I HAD to see the movies, of course .. and they just confirmed my desires .. once again. Gorgeous.There 'ya have it. And one day? I will be able to say I have visited both of them -- I am certain of it.
