Everyone always asks, "What have you been up to?" Well, my imagination has been running wild lately and due to that .. several home decor projects have begun to start. THIS is what I've been up to:
A few months back, I painted the half bath. I never got around to sharing it, so here it is:

My mom always had antique washboards in her laundry room when we were growing up. I've always wanted one, but I'd rather display it somewhere it will be more appreciated.
I know you've seen the finished entertainment system before, but we got new hardware for it a few weeks ago and moved the clock down. Here is the final finished product.
A year ago, we were going to buy bedroom furniture. After pricing the furniture I wanted, we decided to just get the mattress and get the furniture at a later date. Now, I can't imagine spending all of that money on furniture .. when I can just refurbish a recycled set! This is our new dresser. It is currently sitting in our living room and will be getting a lot of TLC in the coming week. We'll then relocate it to our bedroom.
Although I wasn't shopping for a nightstand, this one came in the "package deal". It will also be taken care of and head upstairs.
This, my friends, is my sad little bed. She sits on the floor, on her box spring, as she has done for the past year. But don't you worry -- with the help of Scottie's skills and my research and love for most things vintage, we will soon have a fantastically unique bed frame, made of doors. Next week, we will be carefully selecting doors from a architectural salvage yard and the work will begin.
Thanks to Edith, the mirror below is now in my ownership. I have big plans for it, including paint and chalkboard paint. It will find it's residence in the downstairs hallway.
On to the upstairs ..We live in the house of mirrors. It is a tough tie of favorites between windows or mirrors. Again, we didn't necessarily NEED the mirror that is supposed to be mounted to the dresser, but .. package deal. Naturally, I have found a nice little home for it, as well.
The new dresser will (thankfully) replace this current chest of drawers. I still have the furniture I used in college and I will be happy to possibly refurbish it and move it to another part of our home.
And since we have seen all but one side of the master bedroom, here is a look at the other wall:
The curtains and pull backs were made by my mom and I. The chair? A hand me down from great family friends, the Murr's.The guest bedroom has been patiently waiting for some paint on the walls:
It will be painted gray. Another mirror? Yes, I'm afraid so. This mirror weighs about 400 pounds, maybe slightly less. It, along with everything else I've shown you, will be painted. Kris and I scored this mirror for a whopping $8 at Goodwill a few months back.
My collage is begging for some wall paint. I feel it will look SO much better with a lovely shade of gray behind it.The loft? It is still a hodge podge. We'll get there, eventually!
Now the question is .. where should we start?!
PS: The entertainment system, dresser, night stand, dresser mirror and the smaller mirror are all in our possession for less than $200 total. This makes me smile!
