Howdy, howdy. How are we doin'? Fantastic, I hope .. as Thanksgiving is tomorrow and it is ALWAYS a fabulous day to look forward to. I, personally, will be spending the day with my second family -- my work family. We'll get to enjoy all of the Thanksgiving goods still, don't you worry. We bring Thanksgiving to the break room.
Saturday is my celebration with the nearest and dearest. Only THEN will I be feasting on the traditions I know and love so much.
As for today, part of it was spent preparing for the feast (because it will be nothing short of that!) and the other part? Sharpenin' up those skills.
Lesson for the day: Quit being such a darn perfectionist. Whoever knows me knows that this might be a near impossible task, but it's my goal. Slighty dark? It's OKAY. Slighty bright? It's OKAY. Blurry? Leave it and move on. Don't give up. That's what I've gotta work on. It's the next step.
I accompanied the one and only, Kristina, on her photo adventure today.
I mostly "ohh'ed" and "awh'ed" over this gorgeous creature. Holy Moses.
It doesn't get more perfect than that.I also stalked Kris in her many fantastic shot gettin' poses.
This is my fave.

This evening, in the dark hole of a room that I call my bedroom, it was photo shoot time with Beau. He was completely and entirely exhausted from the walk we took earlier this evening, so his usual "I'm better than this" attitude was minimal. You'd think he was the meanest dog on the planet with his sleepy stares. Really, he's just ready for me to turn the "bright" lamp off and snuggle him.
I used my telephoto zoom lens and played with settings. No goal in particular, just trying to continue to learn.
A big thanks goes out to Beau, who held WAY more still than he usually does.
These images are SOOC (straight out of the camera), meaning they are not edited. I'm trying to refine my skill before getting all involved in editing. That's a step for a little later.
I'm pretty sure his mother was a lion.
I know it looks like I have a spot light on him, but nope .. that's me .. actually learning how to take a bright picture in a dark room without using the flash. Yahoo! Let's keep this learnin' thing up!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I'm off to catch some zzzz's after spending entirely too much time playing with aperature and shutter speed. I'm going to be one tired chick in the AM!
