Sweet success!

Who has four different cameras, yet uses her cell to take most of her photos? That would be me. Unacceptable! My poor little DSLR has been patiently waiting for some lovin'.

I'm a big fan of outdoor photography because, well, what photographer doesn't love good lighting? It makes it easy for me to be lazy with settings and not have to deal with the horrendous flash.

But, indoors? The last thing I'm looking for is a flash ruining a photo. Indoors, the pups are shot frequently with my point and shoot because it doesn't drown them in flash. I avoid my DSLR because it takes a bit more work to make a low-light-room photo happen without a flash. Actually? My attempts have been big, blurry, overexposed, underexposed sadness. Graininess. Frustration. I wasn't gettin' it. And no, all those tutorials online that everyone rants and raves about taught me nothing. Maybe it is my extreme visual AND hands on learning requirement where I've been lacking. Sadly, the classes Kristina and I attempted to take were cancelled. I wouldn't be where I am today had we got to take them.

Putting frustrations aside .. the desire to sharpen my skill has started to rise again. After a conversation with my brother, I had it down pat. That's all it took! One Brother B working with me to see what I needed help with. Some playin' with the ISO and I was in action. What a nice brother. :) We will continue our lessons on Saturday, the day we will celebrate Thanksgiving. Please look forward to updates following our holiday weekend. Hopefully this will mean better and more posts as we finish up this year of 2011.
My fabulous birthday gift from Miss Laura. I adore it.

Knox was my model for many, many shots. He was mostly well behaved and very sleepy after a while, so he rested his chin on the tile.

And Beau? Whenever there is a camera in his face, he turns and looks the exact opposite way. So, his precious little Berenstain Bear paws will have to do. They're just hanging off the side of the bed, as usual.
